Transfer Tivo Acct

I've got an older series Tivo w/ product lifetime service and want to upgrade to the HD Tivo box. Due to the lack of $$$ I can't afford a box plus the new product lifetime fee. Does anyone know how to transfer the product lifetime service from one machine to another? I'm not looking to keep both machines operating just the HD version.

I don't think you can do that. But perhaps someone else knows better.

TiVo does run specials. redirect - support upgrade you can see what you are eligible for. Right now it is $199 lifetime on premieres for existing customers (vs the normal $299). It is not an upgrade since your old box continues to work. But in the past they have done real upgrades for less.

I’m just looking to switch my current box w/ a HD box w/o spending $$$ for a new lifetime subscription. I’m not looking to use both just one box; they (Tivo) won’t switch it over. They did offer it when the HD boxes first came out but at $700 hardly something that was affordable and simply included all the fees, so no a break after all.
