Thanks to the dishpointer.com tool I was able to get 61.5 from where my dishes are. Most of the TPs are in the mid 40s but TP22 comes in at only 21-22 on a 622 and the new SS.

Can you guys with 61.5 please post what you're getting on TP22 and your location? oh and on what dish? Some of you have 24'' and 30'' dishes. :)

Granted it was a quick try and the location is not ideal since I have my 1000.2 kind of in the way but before I try a different location I need to know if TP22 is that low. If it's then I'll stay 129.

Thanks.

If you live in CA,why wouldn't you use the 129 Satellite? Most of the 61.5 users live in the southern and eastern US ,where the 129 can't be picked up.

129 is a POS, the signals are too low. I'm getting mid 30s and 40s with 129 and I know if I peak the dish on 61.5, I can do better than that. But you got a good point because E* might put my HD RSN on 129 and then I'm SOL.

Edit: Plus I want to see what the damn Fish tank looks like. :)

Thanks guys. I think something must've been blocking part of the dish and that's why I got 22 on that transponder. I may try this weekend to relocate the dish but I need to run another cable to the switch for 129 first just in case they turn on FSN Bay Area HD.

Transponder 22 and 24 are much weaker than the others in my experience. Right now tp 22 and 24 are showing a 37-39 signal. All other TPs at 61.5 are in the mid to high 50s. This is on the 622.

(For those that do not know, a recent software upgrade changed the signal levels scale so a GOOD signal is a 70 or so--the threshhold for getting a picture is now 10 instead of 40)

Yeah, that's why I asked because I watch History and Cinemax a lot. If it was the Voom channels then I wouldn't care. :)

I moved the dish to the front of the chimney and I can't find 61.5 (more on this below). I moved the dish back to where I found it yesterday but about 6 inches higher and most TPs are in the mid 50s and 60s. TP22 is at 40-41. I'm very happy with the readings except that the dish is pointing at the chimney itself and I'm afraid that when it rains hard, the splashing of the rain might block the signal.

I've attached a couple of pictures, location 1 is where the dish is right now. Location 2 is where I want it because the chimney is out of the way but I can't get any signal which I find it very weird. The only thing that could be happening is that one of the trees is blocking the signal as I get closer to the tree. But if you look at the blue line, it's the same path for both locations. I'm planning on leaving it where it is right now and wait until it rains but now it's bugging me why I can't find any signal if I move it forward 4-5 feet.

BTW, the elevation angle is only 14.

Any ideas?

Can you post a picture from the roof with the dish on the left and the chimney on the right?

I don't think you'll have an issue with it, just wait until it rains.

I'll post a picture tomorrow, I wanted to take one today from both locations but I had to run to a meeting at my daughter's school.

Which is Better, Ext HD or 722
