Toslink Optical Outputs on 811 and 510

Can someone tell me if the 510 and the 811 output ALL audio through the toslink and the analog RCA outs at all times, or will they only output through the optical outputs when there is a digital signal to output?

The reason I ask is I have both RCA jacks and optical outs connected to my AV receiver and am wondering if I can get rid of some of the extra wiring.

All audio is available through both the toslink and RCA outputs at all times.

As long as your Audio Receiver can accept PCM and DD on the toslink you only need the optical connection. Make sure your 510 or 811 is set to PCM and DD output.
