Toshiba trx slave question

I have the 1520 model slaved and it has a VC II Plus module(color blue) in the back of the unit. If I wanted to subscribe to a few channels that aren't FTA; would this allow me to do that? I would need a c-band lnb like PSB sells right? I will be getting a primestar dish(1m) from a neighbor tomorrow and was just curious.

probably not....analog C-band does usually need the larger dish. People have been able to get a fuzzy picture with a 4' dish...a 1m probably wouldnt work

For subscription channels the larger dish is a must. Wth vcii signals, if the signal isnt strong enough you will get "no subscription for this channel" displayed on your screen. Not a fuzzy picture, but no pic at all, well unless you count the black screen with a message as a pic ; )
