Toshiba announces 1.5TB 2.5" drive

This is a big step forward for laptop apps needing big storage with a dual platter design that is in the typical 9.5mm firm factor.

Engadget reporting a record 694Gbits/sq inch density spinning at 5400 rpm.

Very nice stuff, I'm wondering how dear the price will be.

It better not be too "dear" since you can now buy a 960GB SSD for less than $600.

yup although 1.5TB is nice for Laptop. I would NEVER go back since my XPS 13 now has SSD

I'm thinking in the $175/200 range as there's a premium for the highest capacity HDs.
