So, I currently only have an 811 with (old) HD package + voom and an international channel (Globo tV). I cancelled the international channel and kept only the voom + HD package as I already have everything else through Directtv. Because I'm moving I called them to see how much it would cost and what kind of committment I'd have to do if they installed a dish at new place. Well, it turns out that I got a Dish1000 for free, with no contrat, no minimum package requirement Because I was lied in the past by Dish I'm still a little suspicious of this. but my installation is scheduled for this sunday, so we'll see what will happen...

As I understand it, E* is working to replace D500's with 1000's at any opportune time. Especially current HD customers.

Yep. though I just realized I never got an order number! but I did get the csr's name and badge number.
