Six-part Baseball Documentary to Air on INHD/MOJO Network

"The Show" will debut May 30 on High Definition Network

(PHOENIX, Ariz.) - Subscribers to the MOJO High Definition Network, a nationally broadcast HD cable channel, can enjoy the debut of The Show, a six-episode sports documentary series narrated by Joe Mantegna at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30.
Filmed by Phoenix-based True Story Films, and a co-production of Shoot and Move Media (Chicago), Major League Baseball Productions and Al Roker Entertainment, The Show tracks six minor league baseball players on the Tucson Sidewinders as they battle for a place on the roster of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Two of the featured players, Carlos Quentin and Chris Young, are now current key D-backs players.
"We are very proud of our work with this project," says Cary Truelick, True Story Films co-owner and Director of Photography of The Show. "The minor league baseball system is grueling; the vast majority of players won't make it. The behind the scene access that we were granted really allowed us to capture what these players go through. I think it will make for great television." says Truelick.
The Show was directed by Shoot and Move Media chief Sam Ciaramitaro. The rest of the True Story Films team consisted of Associate Producer Chris Barron, Production Coordinator, Brett Tuttle, Gaffer and Second Unit Camera, Alex Mitchell and Assistant Camera, Ben Scharffbillig.
True Story Films recently showcased its first feature length documentary, Jerabek, at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. Jerabek, which follows the emotional struggles of the Jerabek family from Green Bay, Wisconsin in the two years following the death of their son, U.S. Marine, PFC Ryan Jerabek, gives audiences a rarely seen perspective of the cost of war that some critics such as Paul Rieckhoff from The Huffington Post say ".should be required viewing" for Americans.
True Story Films plans to participate in more documentary television projects that capture the raw emotions of human experiences.

I watched the first episode and was not impressed with this. It is about half hour mostly talking to the minor leaguers but it doe not seem like they know what to talk about. The show talks about the percentage of failure to make it to the majors something that it is known but I think it fails to go deeper into the why? and rather concentrates on a the profile of the six minor leaguers. I decided not to watch again.
