Tivo & FTA

There are three things you'd have to do to make it work.

#1 All of the channels that you want to record need to be available from one of the lineups from Dish Network, DirecTV, or a cable company that you have a zipcode for.

#2 Your channel list needs to have the channels you want to record numbered the same as the provider lineup you choose.

#3 Hopefully the Tivo's IR blaster will have a code that will operate the box.

Gettingall three in line isn't terribly likely. I'd look into a DVD recorder or maybe one of the DVD recorders that has a hard drive to record to intead of 'wasting' a Tivo on a FTA box.

I had my old Coolsat connected to one of my Tivos for a while but the Tivo didn't control the box and it sure as heck didn't know what was playing on the FTA box. I just used it for time shifitng.

I used at standalone TIVO for a while for my Classic NA. For just watching TV, its not bad. changing channels on the NA was realllllly slow.
able to pause live tv.
Had to do manual recording from the TIVO, so you need to know when it is on and leave the FTA receiver on the channel (or place a timer on your FTA box if it has one).

Another prob I had was unable to record AC3 audio,
