Time Warner Cable Internet

Wife and I are looking to dump our DSL and phone with AT&T. I'd keep the DSL, but they require local phone service as well for it to work.

How is Time Warner cable internet in the Dallas area?

I don't know about the Dallas area, but in the Cincinnati area, TWC was pretty good. Advertised rate of 5mb download was usually exeeded. I was getting 7Mb down before I moved. The 450kb up was a serious issue for me though and it was a hard ceiling.

Service was good. Minor issues were resolved quickly.

you might be able to get DSL with someone else besides ATT. there are sites that you can type in your current phone number and it will tell you which DSL providers are in your area. once you switch, then dump ATTs phone part.
