If you notice, many of the sub-forums haven't had ANY activity in MONTHs or their existence makes no sense today (VOOM installation forum ??). Hardly justifies needing their own sub-forums, let alone the top-level VOOM forum.

I see that the VOOM programming forum has been moved appropriately to the HDTV programming forum. The VOOM help desk forum dealt with hardware questions a lot last time I glanced in there. Those posts belong in the "OTA HD" forum now as that's all those boxes are good for.

The VOOM Customer forum, well, there ain't VOOM customers anymore....

The VOOM DVR forum ?? That never saw the light of day, did it ?? I recall it was demo'd at a trade show but it turned out that the boxes themselves were empty shells.

Same goes for the VOOM "In Your Area" forum and installations forum.

We've been thinking of doing that. The only thing that stops us from archiving those forums is the fact that there are still a lot of visitors hanging there (for whatever reason). Right now there are 80 people "stuck" there. More than 40 in the VOOM DBS News and Developments forum alone, even though the only active thread there is "We Really Had It Great With Voom!!" ;)

It's like seeing an old man driving his '72 Impala with 30,000 miles while wearing an outdated hat. The old man is "stuck" but out of respect we simply smile and let him be. Eventually these old men will die out and a new generation of cronies will replace them with new and different old ways.

Unless the old men are mowing down pedestrians, I say leave us...er, I mean them alone to ponder how it once was...since we're only driving 15mph.;)

Gee, I miss VOOM

Talking about the original VOOM DBS provider brings tears to my eyes. Their program was lacking, but I loved having an upstart challenger to push Dish and Direct. Too bad they failed.

Dont let Mark Cuban hear that. He might just fill the gap. Wait that would be a good thing!!

I'd keep it open. What's wrong with that? You don't have to feed it, doesn't consume anything (insignificant), doesn't cost a single cent per month, why would you delete it? It's great to go back in times sometimes and read our good ol' times...
