yeah glad to hear it all worked out

trying to store sats now hard to do haven't fine tuned it yet
just playing and seeing what it will do

have ia 6 & ia5 stored

Cool and damp here,(rained last night) doubt I get to work on Fta much unless it drys out... have to fix my Living room Replay as I had a doh moment with the cover off and dropped a Rca cable end into the power supply blowing a fuse ( that will require soldering to replace)...

Was going to try to replace the Polarotor on my 10' BUD, layed it over and took the Chaparell Corotor II off, promptly broke all 4 mounting screws off... the whole assembly is froze up also. So 10'BUD stays laid over for the week, going to try to put the 13degree LNB on the 8'BUDs Corotor II... then maybe mess with the FTA as the sun is out and it has dried out...

Well got a little done today.

INstalled a dish for 119. Since the T90 gave me blech results being almost 30 degrees off centre, I put up a small 18" dish for 119. I thought I could put it in front of the T90 on the table, but that didn't work.

I made a stubby mast by sawing right below the elbow on the mast. Put it at 90 degrees and slapped the dish on...boom 100+ on all TP's :)

Aso ran 13  cables from LNB's to 2 different setups
-2 4x1 diseqc switches for 72, 74, 79, 85, 89, 93, 97, 103. Those 2 outputs into a 22k switch
-second setup has LNB's from 74, 79, 89, 93, 103 into a 4x1 diseqc (2 lines go to a 22k switch then to the switch)

Also cleaned up the cabling and mounted the switches underneath the table (for rain protection).

Once I get my Diseqc switches from PSB (the ones that have all connections on same side, that will make it MUCH easier :)

I could have cut it lower but didnt want to cut it too low (not that I didnt have any spares around) :D. Nice and low profile :)

Well, I got the cables shortened, cleaned up, aimed the new OTA, washed my car, mowed my lawn, did a few other chores and enjoyed the new 622 all afternoon. Maybe next weekend I will go for 30 west :)

Well I got the 10' mesh c-band dish here finally, got it on the pole, had major actuator problems and then it died. But, getting G5-3 perfect, then started raining and got dark. So concluding, I got an actuator UPS Next Day, so Tuesday morning will have it working good hopefully.....and then will go for working on reseting on the sat's in my Uniden 4400 for the new actuator.....Now I'm tired LOL!! And thanks to all that helped me in the c-band forum! :hatsoff:

Also, updated the signature!!

Iafire, sounds like you could work for em and probably know what the heck you are doing a lot better than them. Would love to see their faces if you got in to a competition with them and can prove that you can do a better job faster... it'd be classic. They'd probably hire you on the spot so that they don't have to pay as much out for overtime.

Well, I don't like to act like I know more than a paid prfessional but........

I actually would like to do that for a living :) I have always enjoyed setting up satellite systems. That is why I have set up so many Primestars for FTA :) I get all my tools out, box of coax, etc, get to cut wire, put connectors on, set up, etc :) But I will admit, that first FTA dish..... I never would have thought it was easy! Had I just understood what everybody meant by "blind scan" I would have been done right away. I can go and hit G10 in less than 5 minutes now! (actual time depends on how fast I can blind scan) :)

Well, yet again the weekend is upon us. My project: I am going to the in-laws and upgrade their Dish Network dish to the Dish 1000. After mine last week, my father in-law wanted one, so got it ordered, and it shold be there today via UPS. If I have any time left, I would like to aim my bucket Primestar to a news feed satellite, or 30w.

nothing this weekend...going up north to the cabin to cut grass, get the junk mail, get the snowblower ready and all that good stuff

I have not tried for 30w yet, but I should have clear LOS. G10 took me over a week to get, I did not understand the hole blind scan thing. I had it set in my mind that you had to have a signal on the receivers meter before you could scan. Anyway, I can go out and hit G10 in minutes now. The fastest I did was under 5 minutes :) Yes, I have praticed :(

I just wanta find one of these wild college football feeds they say are on 85, or 89. I did see a couple on AMC5 (79) last Saturday.

iafirebuff - What satellite would you suggest as a good news feed satellite? I've been doing some playing with new new FTA receiver this week and have been manually moving the dish between the different birds looking to see what I can find and also to figure out which birds I'm going to leave my multiple reflectors pointed at :) Any suggestions for a good bird for news feeds?
