Some of us have been a member of this great group for many years.
When I first started here is when HD was just starting to come around. Couldn't wait for the next Dish uplink report anticipating new channels that had been added and especially which channels were lighting up in HD! I hurried home to check out my new HD channels.
I also remember the time when our local channels were added and when they converted to HD.
Those were the days...

It's all down hill for Satellite from here on out. The only question is when you will stop using them entirely. With the prices continuing to go up for programming and the ever increasing DISH fees added to customer bills , it is harder and harder to stay with them.

As a kid in 1956, we got our first B&W TV. It wasn't until the mid 60s when we got Color TV. In 1985 I bought my first Big Dish as we only had 12 cable channels and no OTA here. I got Dish in 1999. Now I stream a lot of stuff with a Roku, Chromecast, and soon to have a Fire Stick. Direct TV and Dish Sling are both selling streaming packages. In fact I read last week that soon Direct Now will be offering a complete set of locals with their streaming packages. Satellite & Cable days are numbered.

Will they have sub channels?

When I was a boy, we had a B&W tube-based Zenith. It had a mechanical tuner and a sonic remote that could produce two tones. One ran a motor to go up one channel, while the other ran the volume up. No down button on either!
A buddy had one of those. He would shake his keys at it and we'd watch the channels change. If his cat hit a certain hiss, that would change it too.
