Robert Kirkman, No. 1 on The Hollywood Reporter's most powerful comics writers list, has one major regret about AMC's adaptation of his long-running The Walking Dead — and it's a big one. "If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have done the CDC episode [at the end of season one]," Kirkman told THR of the episode in which CDC doc Edwin Jenner (Noah Emmerich) reveals to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) that everyone is already infected.
The Walking Dead has an appointment for revenge at Grady Memorial Hospital this weekend, with the mid-season finale, "Coda," airing Sunday, November 30 at 9pm. The fight will be led by Norman Reedus's Daryl, who's especially driven to rescue his two beloved allies, Beth (Emily Kinney) and Carol (Melissa McBride), both of whom are being held captive by the hospital's menacing police brigade. After Sunday's episode, the zombie drama will return on Sunday, February 8 for the second half of Season 5, and Reedus hopes the group of survivors will keep fighting as one unified front instead of splitting off: "When the band is all together, the music is much better!"
Is someone going to die in the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead? Again?!That's the question on everyone's minds as we prepare to tune into the final new zombie-filled episode of 2014. The AMC thriller has truly raised the post-apocalyptic stakes in season five, and now all we can do is wait with bated breath to see if all our favorite characters will survive the hour.ETonline had an exclusive chat with The Walking Dead's executive producer Gale Anne Hurd to get the inside scoop on what fans should expect from Sunday's "completely unexpected" mid-season finale, Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) emotionally digressive journey and more.Although Sunday's mid-way wrap-up will feature all of the concurrent storylines of the season, Hurd revealed that the writers have thoroughly enjoyed being able to explore the stories of certain characters through their isolated episodes."That was something that we had hoped to do this season because last season we introduced so many new characters, and we really didn’t get to spend all the time on then that we would've liked," she said.
On The Talking Dead, they suggested it was simply a case of Dawn one-upping them - changing the deal after the fact just to "win" vs it being an equal swap. Now that I think about it, this may have just been the guest's speculation and not from Kirkman or "Beth"."Now I understand", I believe meant "Now I understand how killing someone can be for the greater good."
Some of the twitter feeds are hilarious with one person saying that they were so saddened by Beth's death that they couldn't go to school the next day(today).
Sorry I'm not emotionally stable enough to attend school I'm mourning the death of a loved one. #RIPBeth
