The NHL Reups with Versus, To Be Rebranded NBC Sports Channel

They said they would have all games of the playoffs on "national NBC cable networks". You can read that to mean NBC, Vs, USA, and probably something like CNBC. Don't be surprised if Universal Sports goes away (or, at the very least, doesn't become any more than a digital subchannel filler like it is now)

That's what I'm hoping. Here in western NY only Buffalo has Universal Sports. Not carried in Syracuse or Rochester and neither NBC affliate has any plans of adding it.

If NBC Sports/Versus were to obtain a contract with MLS, could this push Dish to offer it on one or more of its Dish Latino packages? Right now, I know Fox Soccer Channel (in English) is offered on Dish Latino Dos. This would make it more accessible/affordable as many here have already pointed out in other threads that the Dish Latino packages offer many English channels which non-Spanish speakers may want and at a better price. I currently subscribe to Dish Latino Dos and receive locals in English, my regional sports network, CNN, Discovery, NatGeo, FX, Nick, Cartoon Network/Boomerang, Animal Planet, Sirius radio stations, Fox Soccer Channel and more.
