Some Blu-ray have now made it into the top 100 DVD sales at Amazon.com.

The Departed Blu-ray was at 55 today. That's impressive considering how relatively few Blu-ray Disc Players are out there compared to DVD players.

ps: I also found Casino Royale, at 23 (wasn't listed as the top selling Blu-ray, but apparently it is moving up faster now).

I'm not much of a movie person, but reading thru what BD is expected to become available this year, there are at least a dozen I'd like to have. Looking ahead, if Blu-ray continues to widen the gap over HD-DVD sales and looks to be the winner (or at least, "a" winner), I'll have to start shopping this summer for a player. I realized I can just put down a bunch of BDs on our Xmas "want" list. Beats getting more stuff we don't want.

Now, if they'll just put out a full featured, reasonably priced player and shut out HD-DVD for good.

In post #1, you list Dune under Lion's Gate. But Amazon lists it as from Universal and available as HD-DVD. Do both studios have release rights?

It's actually Frank Herbert's Dune (miniseries - 2000) that is coming on Blu-ray, not the 1984 movie.
