I've been fooling around with one of those WSI 6' specials since last october. I finally put it up and been waiting for very nice weather to aim it. This is my first c-band dish I set up myself. I've been reading about the different people putting up there dishes and getting some what confused about the way to measure the angles. Since I'm using a digital level it really had me twisted. Today I'm reading Dee's situation and I decide I got to really understand this and get my head wrapped around this.It then came to me that my dish was set wrong and I reset the elevation this morning. The declination was correct and I had set my due south by sight(dead reconing)

I went into the house and hooked up the Skywalker 1 to my aux computer and started the DVB program MyTheatre. The last channel I had watched was on 97W KU Russia Today on my ku dish. My C-Band dish was aimed somewhat south.(my due south is 114) I'm wanting to get 113 Satmex. Well when the program started I saw signal strength show on KU. I thought about this and surmised I was getting bleed from Echo14 @119. I figured how many clicks I need to move the dish 6° east and scanned c-band. AND to my suprise I scanned in satmex6 I then moved the dish back and forth and scanned in everything from 83W~138W. Without fine tuning I'm that close. I need to buy a lottery ticket!!
I'm even getting some ku signals in on a few sats to the east. I can't wait foor my meter to show up and tweak this setup. I can't believe how easy that was LOL.

Good job sir. That is what what happened to me. I was almost fed up and decided id point it at true south made sure my elevation and all was set started turning and bam I found signal. It was great.I still havnt made it all the way to 138 yet.lol
