I haven't seen it yet, but I plan to soon.
I thought "Batman Begins " was a damn good movie, is this better yet ?

I think keeping Bale as Batman from the last movie is a really GOOD idea.

I thought it was good, but way overhyped. I actually preferred Batman Begins.

It was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.. it's such a long movie and you don't even get a moment to think (do I need to go to the bathroom? is this over yet? etc)

The joker was beyond anything anyone could have thought, heath ledger definitely deserves the ocsar for this one.. he play this role like no one else could have.. made the joker unbelievably creepy, funny, and almost likable in a perverse sort of way..

The addition of 2 face was not needed, they should have set that up for another movie.

Vince, I agree with you on Heath's Joker and I was actually waiting to find some flaws with all the rave reviews his role got, but I found myself so engrosseed in his Joker portrayal that I have to agree it's an award caliber performance.

As for your spoiler, while it was added, I'm glad they ended it in this movie and did not let it carry-over actually.

Yes...I do feel it was way better than Batman Begins. But, Batman Begins is what set up this incredible movie. To the person that said that compared this movie to a Q Tarantino movie: no way is this in his league of movies. It is scary but it is in no way an R rated movie. That being said, children under 10 shouldn't see it because the story is way above their heads and too long. This movie was not made for the kiddies. A perfect cast for an adult comic book movie. The only downside I could see is that the young ones won't enjoy this one.

Being along time DC comics guy and the Dark Knight series in particular, I'm glad to see Batman getting the treatment he finally deserves.

I always thought the Dark Knight was the true story of Batman.

Batman begins was a good start. Can't wait to see this one. Hopefully next weekend.

The showing I went to (9:50pm saturday) had TONS of little kids in it. Im talking 4,5,6 year olds....I couldn't believe it. I don't know whats wrong with these parents.

Saw it last night and it was excellent. Ledger's Joker was creepy. I really liked Batman Begins, and this movie was a great followup.

I disagree on your spoiler. It the 2nd time in a row he faced 2 villains. One pulling the string and one being a puppet.

Saw it here last night too.. That was the best joker that I have ever seen... Bravo Bravo.. great job.

I am definatly getting this one on bluray. I cant remember the last time I was excited over a batman movie.

I think I will have to get A Bluray!!!

Just reserved tix to an IMAX showing this weekend (been a while since I took my wife on a proper date - she actually suggested the movie, who am I to argue?)

I thought it was great, movie lived to its expectations.
I am 100% going to buy this movie on BD.

"The Dark Knight" ... Okay... It's dark!

Once again I was dragged kicking and screaming into a movie theater, this time to see "The Dark Knight". For those living under a rock, this is the new Batman movie which is the sequel of "Batman Begins" and has nothing to do with the Batman movies on the 90's.

First of all, let me say that I have HATED each and every Batman movie up to this point, including "Batman Begins", though I despised "Batman Begins" less than I despised the other Tim Burton inspired movie and its spawn of celulousic dreck!

So you may all be surprised when I say, I didn't hate this movie. I had some very serious issues with gaping huge plot holes that a truck could drive through (and at one point literally did), but it was entertaining.

Heath Ledger is as advertised: the embodiment of the sociopath that is The Joker. I do not see how anyone could portray this maniac character any better without becoming two dimensional. But I grew tired of it quickly. There is only so much death and destruction, so much unmotivated, cold-blooded cruelty I can handle even in a movie setting. This Joker is a true sociopath. There is absolutely no redeaming social value to this himan being. But he makes the perfect foil for The Batman.

Christian Bale reprises his role as the Batman well but I still have problems with the Bruce Wayne character. The dynamic between Bruce and Alfred doesn't feel real. As in Batman Begins, they never let us into their relationship and never show us anything but quips and barbs going back and forth.

So, is this movie worth seeing in the theater? For me, yes. I know I would have switched the channel had I been watching it on HBO during the fourth or fifth explosion; or at least during one of the times when the Joker shows up after a "Saw"-like improbablility-laiden plot-twist which in any form of reality would have been foiled by a single bullet. Going to the theater with some one who wanted to watch this movie forced me to sit through those parts of the movie that stretched my suspension of disbelief to the breaking point and enjoy the rest of the morality play which was hidden only two layers below.

The Dark Knight is the fist of the Batman movies that doesn't make me leave the theater looking for the nearest gun dealer so I can buy a .38 and blow my brains out with depression! This movie, though keeping its dark, ominoius, overbearing, and depressing tone actually has a little tiny ray of light shining at the end. I tried to hang on to that.

This movie is absolutely, positively NOT for younger or impressionable audiences. Use you judgement, but I would not allow anyone under a very mature 12 or 13 to see this movie due to the depiction of real, unadulterated sociopathic behaviour which is very, very disturbing. The final scenes especially would have done me in as a kid!

See ya

I thought it was a great movie. I loved batman begins to way better then the Burton ones, and we can toss the two not made by Burton out the window they were just junk.

I love your new sig though tony, now you are the grammar police.

On a side note this is like the 2nd or third thread started about the dark knight, perhaps it was best to just post in one of those others?

Thanks Steven.

Not grammar police or I would have to arrest myself. Just a gentle reminder of the most common errors. I left out lose and loose. :)
I merged the threads. as suggested.

I would like to eventually see this film but will probably have to wait until it is released on DVD later this year perhaps... I did watch the new Indiana Jones and also Iron Man in the movie cinema.
