Tethering iPhone Without Jailbreaking

Is their a way to tether the iPhone 3Gs with OS 3.1.3 without jailbreaking it?

I do not think it is possible after 3.0. With 3.0 you could replace the carrier control file with one that said tethering is allowed. After 3.0 they required the carrier control file to be checksumed and digitally signed.

BenM did have something, but I kept getting an error when I tried to download it. I guess that error was the checksum?
