This may be another......."The new digital signal is not available to backyard dish owners" BS.

Yes, that is what it looks like unfortunately. I guess the TEN people figure that it is best to wholesale their product to the cable and small dish people instead of serving the direct-to-home market themselves. With the Digicipher II system being a secure means of delivering program, I wonder why they wouldn't use the Digicipher system to be able to distribute to the cable and home dish market all at once..

Since they are using Digicipher 2 to distribute their digital channels, they could offer it to 4dtver's. But the SR of 14630 wouldn't allow 920 owners to receive the channels. I guess they think the direct market is too limited. From New Frontier's November 2007 10-Q:

"C-Band Revenue

The decrease in our C-band revenue during the three and six month periods ended September 30, 2007 as compared to the same periods in the prior year is a result of the continued decline of the C-Band market as consumers convert from C-Band big dish analog satellite systems to smaller 18-inch digital DBS satellite systems. The C-Band market has declined 56% year-over-year to 45,000 subscribers at September 30, 2007 from 103,000 subscribers as of September 30, 2006.

Our C-Band market continued to be profitable for us during the current quarter. However, the profit from these services has continued to deteriorate as the number of subscribers decline and we expect that these services will not generate income in the near future. As a result, we plan to discontinue these services during the third quarter of fiscal year 2008. We do not expect to incur any material costs associated with discontinuing these services."

Looks like they are ahead of schedule.

Even if TEN was available in DCII, I don't think they could have it authorized as easy as VCII is...and if it were available in DCII, don't even count on NPS offering something like that...they look down on PPV and Porn and anything that may cost them three cents in the end...

Nps and all the c-band providers are all looking down and wanting to charge the hell out of us for uplink fee's nps is 9% now wtf?
