Water runs off a solid piece of metal faster giving it less chance to freeze. They will help with weight and wind sheer effect. That matters with the new 1k.4 short mast because I don't think it's sturdy enough with that much weight on it when mounted to a shingled roof.

Dish says when customers compare then they will chose DISH, they then show a Dish Network -vs- DIRECTV ad.
