Has anyone seen or read anything about whther TBS HD will be ON E* come September? MLB Divisional Series are all on TBS this October.

I don't think there has been anything officially stated, but I think everyone believes we will get it in September. We better get it before the playoffs start.

Yeah, I would suspect that this one will definitely be a Sept addition.

Too bad it will likely be a like TNT-HD with strechy vision and other compromises.

There is hope: It seems TNT-HD has started to show some movies in OAR format. I saw a couple last week, Hunt for Red october and The Patriot.

Any idea how many additional HD channels E* actually has capacity for on their current sats beyond the 7 we're getting on 8/15 and 9/1? (prior to the two satellite solution that hopefully will be available in 2008). Trying to figure out how realistic it is that we'll see any/all of the HD channels that launch in Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec.

Well, there is talk that Dish is moving their international channels from the Wing sats to another location which would free up more space on 61.5 for HD.

Plus if 6 HD channels per TP holds true, they could consolidate more of their HD lineup by migrating more existing HD channels to MPEG4 like they are doing with Voom. So they migrate: DHDT, TNT-HD, ESPN-HD, HDNet, HDNet Movies, HBO-HD & SHO-HD and that would gain them quite a bit of TP.

In a different thread, I saw an estimate that if DiSH moved things around and used all the transponders available, they could add 25 new MPEG4 HD channels.

TBS will be getting the divisional series regardless of whether the Braves make the playoffs or not? I hadn't heard that. Lord knows, the Braves aren't making it this year

TBS is making their move to become a National Sports channel, not just the Braves. Next year they are only broadcasting maybe 70 Braves games.
