This looks like a good solution to my problem. Why isn't this "welcome" package advertised on DN's website? I guess because they want to sell the more expensive packages.

Simple yet functional! :)

After using the system for a few hours last night I actually prefer the DSR-410 graphics compared to DN's VIP722 receiver. The lettering on the gray stands out nicely and can be easily seen from across the living room. Same thing with the guide.

Back onto the subject of the DSR-410 receiver...

Questions:
1) I'm currently using a remote control which came with a DSR0405 (I believe) receiver that is brown in color. It functions, but I'm looking for the original remote that goes with the DSR-410 receiver. Could anyone please post a picture of the remote control?

2) I read that the DSR-410 receiver has the ability of using a UHF remote control and I see a jack for it on the back of the receiver. Where can I get one?

My 405 is black, so is the remote. The original 410 remote is the same as the Starchoice remote except with blue buttons instead of red. My client got a 410 from Skyvision with the factory remote it was IR. I don't know about the UHF feature I thought that was only on the 920 & 922.

Iceberg,

Do you know if I could sub this package to my DN 3000 ? I haven't had it subbed in a while, has a yellow card in it.

Wallyhts on here can get you a remote. :)

I noticed tonight that "American Life TV Network" is on channel 200 with a test pattern. Could this channel soon be available?

I talked to my wife and daughter about the X4 programming tonight and how I would like to cancel DN and keep X4. It didn't go over very well. They feel as if they are being punished. Daughter wants "ABC Family", "Disney", "Nickelodeon" plus DVR and ability to view in her bedroom. Wife wants "MTV", "FOOD", "INSP", "USA", "TLC" and others plus DVR. However, they agreed to give it a month to see how they like using the X4 system.

Tonight while looking through my satellite receiver inventory I noticed that I have a DSR-401DS which is like the DSR-410 without the CATV connection. I wonder if this receiver could be authorized at some point. I also found a DSR-421 receiver made by General Instruments. The DSR-421 remote control is what I'm actually using to control my DSR-410 receiver.

The more I watch the X4 programming the more I like it. Hopefully my wife and daughter will soon feel the same way. Watching "Halogen" right now which isn't a bad channel that I never saw before.

Also tonight I pressed the "next" button and was surprised by just how easy it is to use and how well it can be read even with my aging eyes.

If the battery/unit ID is still good yes the 410DS can also be authorized. :)

Posted this once and it disappeared??? ....But yes, the 410DS can also be authorized if it's unit ID is good. :)

ALTV is probably not coming back. They were taken over by new people that don't want us to have it I heard. It's been color bars on W5 603 for a long time.

I would love to see us somehow pick up the SES-1 feeds from HITS and convert them to split from combo. That would make the Hits2Home system awesome & give your family more than they want and make many more very happy. I have been bending ears inside about this for a while. Everything will depend on how much we can turn c band around from all the negative that has happened and how we can get Comcast to respond. Last year in Feb all the crap started with the end is here. Here we are a year later and were back on track and moving forward. Getting NPS with Charlies games out of the picture is allowing us to focus on the positive again. We can only move forward now :)

Look what SES-1 has to offer: http://www.comcastmediacenter.com/cmc-hits/programming-lineup.aspx

Sorry to say that's a starchoice box.

However if that unit has be auth/hit before you can get the freebies off 107.

I'm getting Access & Knowledge plus a couple others on my 405 on 107ku. In theory the *choice boxes will work on HITS. But I think the UID #'s are out of range for U.S. use per Motorola's rules.
