I have directv at home and i am going on a fishing trip in october to pulaski new york. I live by allentown pa and i cant miss any of my ohio state buckeyes football games and in pulaski they do not have the big ten network on there cable and thats what the games on so my question now. What type of dish would i need to buy so i can take my standard receiver n standard tv up there with me so i can hook it up and get the game? Would a standard directv 18 inch dual lnb dish antenna work for me? At home i have a hd dish for my big tv and receiver, but im not worried about hd for the trip since im just going to take my standard receiver from my bedroom. Any input would help me thank you very much!!!

The Big Ten Network in sd is on the 101 satellite, so the dual lnb dish should work just fine. You will not likely get the Allentown locals since you will be ~250 miles from home and the spot beam probably won't reach that far.

Use the simplest dish you can find (18" round would be the easiest) - lock it in on the 101 sat & good to go!

Make sure you go through the receiver set-up menu and change the dish type to whatever you are using. Also, play with it in your yard before you go to get accustomed to setting it up. Lots easier to resolve problems before you go rather than being under the gun.
