Tailgating and need to know about compatibility for tailgating purposes.

In an effort to upgrade our tailgating experience (college football) this season, we are hoping to use a satellite dish for tv games. I've got a Dish Network receiver (model 2700) that's been stored away, but it still works. I've found a good deal on a [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]DISH Network Dish 500 with a Dish Pro Plus Lnb & portable tripod.[/FONT] Do I need to be concerned about compatibility problems using this receiver and dish/lnb?? Your help is appreciated.

The 2700 will not work with the DP LNB

Since this will be our first season to use a dish .... I decided to go cheap and picked up a 311 receiver today.
