Syracuse basketball aide placed on leave as police investigate sex abuse claims; Boeheim issues deni

Well, as Yogi said if even half of these lies aren't true...you still have to think Boeheim had to at least be in the loop.

In the loop? Can you explain that one? I mean if Fine was doing this...why would he wanna keep Boeheim in the loop? Or how would Boeheim be in the loop?

Head coaches for the most part are known to be control freaks and detail oriented, until something goes wrong....

So true...especially these coaches who operate in their own little kingdoms (Paterno, Boeheim, Tressel and many others), where even the police, the newspapers, and ESPN have your back.

It's like a bad movie where everybody is 'in on it'. Except it's true.

I'm sorry, but that's a gift that should never be unwrapped.... :(

aye caramba!! she so FINE!!!

The relationship between Syracuse and ESPN runs much deeper than the millions of dollars paid to the Big East for broadcasting college basketball games. Many of ESPN’s sportscasters and journalists are graduates of Syracuse’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Syracuse alumni employed by ESPN include Mike Tirico, Jayson Stark, Anish Shroff, Dave Ryan, Dave Pasch, Sean McDonough, Matthew Berry, Steve Bunin and David Amber.

ESPN’s parent company, Walt Disney, has done business with Advance Publications (Newhouse’s conglomerate) prior to 2003, buying Fairchild Publications from Disney for $650 million in 1999.

Michael Eisner, the former president of Walt Disney, held a gathering of media executives on November 14, 2002 at a breakfast discussion in Manhattan. Newhouse School of Public Communication sponsored the event.

Most interestingly, ESPN, Advance Publications, and The Post-Standard all have employees who sit on the Advisory Board for the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications

This was also stated in the Sports by Brooks tweet as well.

So as I stated a few posts back... IF all the allegations prove to be true against Fine...then ESPN and the Post-Standard pulled a Penn State!

Right there with you on this on Juan!

Now 2 accusers of Bernie Fine, Floyd Van Hooser and now Zack Tomaselli have either recanted or have admitted to lying/making up facts in accusing Bernie Fine with sexual misconduct when they were teenagers...

Could the story be falling apart like a house of cards?

And many were criticizing ESPN for failing to air reports of the prior investigation years earlier. Maybe now we're finding out why....

Too late. Damage to Fine's character has already been done. Fine's already been found guilty by the court of public opinion.

Yes... it is... thanks to ESPN. NOW, to me, you have to consider the credibility of the 1st two. It was the false testimony of the last two that lead to the recording of the phone call(that has had it's own issues of whether it is authentic or not).

This case is falling apart...

What?? Just a few posts back, you were criticizing ESPN for not reporting the 2002 investigation. Now they report about a current law enforcement investigation and ESPN is at fault??

I criticized them because IF this was not strong enough then... why was it strong enough NOW. ESPN pushed this story NOW because they got their ass kicked by every single news outlet in American when it came to the Pen State scandal. So they drummed one up that had no business coming out because there was no "smoke". ESPN literally pushed the last two "victims" down everyone's throat.
