Thinking of coming back to D*tv and have some questions.

Is SWM installs common for new installations?
Is pole mounts extra for new installations.
I'm getting a metal roof installed in the next couple of months and really didn't want the dish installed on the roof. The front deck is out of the question because my son is the kicker for is school football team and he practices in the front yard. I wouldn't mind the dish being mounted on the eve of the house because it's only about 10-15 foot high. Thanks for any comments. I could reach it during the winter to clear any snow on it.

SWM is getting more common since the Genie dvr requires it, but some installs don't use SWM. A pole mount charges vary by the install. If there is no other option, there is generally no charge. If it's strictly a cosmetic thing then you might have to pay as much as $75 for it.

The eve of the house will work and it's not that high off the ground. I wouldn't mind the dish being installed on the front deck but just afraid my son would hit the dish while practicing his kicks. Thanks for the input Chip. Just didn't want to seem picky to an installer when the tech shows up.

Good luck on the install. Let us know how it goes.
