I have friend in Florida who is living in a leased house and he would like to switch from Comcast to D*. Would he be able to get a SWM Slimline dish/special splitters/rent of install free with sign up (no surcharge)? The house is wired for Comcast now and he can't run any more wires. He wants one DVR and 2 SD receivers, with the possibility of adding a 3rd SD receiver in the future.

Any idea who the installer is in North Florida?

Also, regarding the AT&T/DirecTV deal. He has Comcast HSI now and wants to switch to AT&T DSL because Comcast is going to surcharge him $16/m after he dumps their TV service. AT&T will sell stand-alone DSL with a very small surcharge and it runs at the same speed as what he has now.
When AT&T's new contract goes into affect with DirecTV early next year, what is the expected/projected DirecTV/ATT DSL bundle price or discount?

Thanks for your help in advance.

i think mastec installs most of florida....with a clear line of sight for the dish and the comcast splitters being accessable he should b fine

The Comcast Splitters being accessible is good, but unable to be used. If they are in a central location then yes a SWM set-up could be used. If D* sets it up as a KAKU5 or KAKU3 install it would be no additional charge to him pending any specialized mounting requirements.

But how much will the discount for a DSL/D* bundle be?

When D* and AT&T were with each other last year it was from $5 - $10 a month savings.. AFAIK there has not been any pricing release yet. With Wildblue you save $5 - $15 off depending on your speed package.
