Switching from DTV

im looking at switching from DTV but I have a few questions. I want the hopper 3 and 2 wireless joeys at the house. Do I need home wifi for these?

Also, I have a motorhome that I would like to have set up with a receiver and at least one wireless that I can easily use for an outside tv. Is it easy enough to bring the components from the house or do I have to have separate boxes.

I've been with DTV for 18 years but I think it's time for a change.

First part of your question, yes for the wireless Joeys, they would connect to a access point which looks like a small Joey itself which in turn connects to your wifi

I thought the wireless Joey and access point were isolated from any home network? If this is the case, then the answer to the OP would be no wireless home network required.

The wireless Joeys operate using a WAP (Wireless Access Point) which does not need any other wireless network and is connected to the Hopper 3.

There are a variety of issues with the H3 that make it awkward to install in an RV, especially with an automatic dish on the roof. Your Direct Dish is not compatible with any Dish Network equipment.
That said when I installed 2 original Hoppers in my RV I was told by about a dozen different CSRs that it couldn't be done. It only took one who could think outside the box, to make it happen.

I just switched to Dish from Cox cable. I have a Hopper 3, 3 Joey 2's and one Wireless Joey. As stated you don't need a home network for the wireless Joey, it connects to an wireless hub with the install and is a separate system. You will need an internet connection to the Hopper 3, either wireless, or wired, to take advantage of all the Hopper features.
