Switches and More Switches Question

Alternatively, for the Primestar with separate H and V LNBs, you can use a 2 x 4 (or 3 x 4, a 2 x 4 with built in diplexer for OTA) DirecTV multiswitch instead of a 22k switch. H goes to 18v input on the multiswitch, V goes to 13v.

Or you can use a 4 x 4 multiswitch, which has a built-in 22k switch. You can attach the Primestar H and V LNBs to, say, the 13v and 18v '22k off' inputs, and another dual output standard (not universal) LNBF to the 13v and 18v '22k on' inputs.

Four receivers can see the LNBs on the 2 x 4 or 4 x 4 multiswitches :)

Hi Tron,

Thanks for the info. I think it will be very useful as I expand the system to include a couple of fixed dishes. When I first start, it will just be this one motorized P*Star dish. It is always good to have more info as I plan for the future.
