OK
Well was looking at getting on a DVR but at the same time wanted to try not to spend to much money as well. Well Dish wanted $200 for their new 922 plus $14 increase in my bill. So for now called Direct got their new DVR for free plus another HD Receiver got the Choice Ultimate with the Whole-Home DVR+HD. Getting installed by my local reseller friend tomorrow morning. So gained a DVR but I'm saving like $23 a month the first 12 months. After my 24 months will look and see where things are at that point. Will loss some channels that I got with Dish but will get some with Direct that I did not.. If you Direct guy have any tips on things please let me know a head up start on things is always a plus.. :)

Welcome to the "OTHER" side !!!

Order whatever you Think you might need equipment wise right away, second HD DVR or HD box as this is the only time you'll be a NEW sub and you get the best deal initially.

Welcome to the "Darkside" Poke. I switched over yesterday after 12 years with Dish. The fee increase in February killed me and I owned two of my receivers. Well according to Dish I only owned one but I still have my receipts. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Forwarded it to JD personally and resolutions. My credits of $16 per month were about to run out. My bill for the next two years never gets close to what I'm paying with Dish (even with the credits). Besides the fees, an issue wasn't resolved with an installation they did on 1/30 and wouldn't correct. Having been a beta tester I could have gone through VP of engineering to have it corrected, but I shouldn't have to. Today they offered to resolve it if I stayed. Too bad Dish is already down. PQ really is a step up. After messing with everything nonstop, I like the 24's and MVR function. I do like Dish's interface better, though. 9 fovorites is nice, too.

Yeah I got in on their promo at 54.99 they tool another $5 off that plus a friend of mine was already on Direct so we did the referral thing got another $10 off for 10 months so that knocked it down to 39.99. But yeah was with Dish for like yrs still like them just wanted to get on a DVR plus save what money I could. Thanks for the invites to the Direct Party.. :)

Glad to see another person with an eye for quality has noticed a better image quality.

With all my moves the last 4 years, I've had the opportunity to have both. Cust Service on both can suck at times, but I just like D*'s service better, and now with the HR24, the DVR slowness has been corrected. I think they run a more professional service, and of course PQ is more important to me than quantity.

I just switched to DirecTv about three weeks ago. It's been great so far. I got the premier package deal where I get all the movie channels free for a year. I am paying a little less for the next year with many more channels than I had with DISH. I think the picture quality is better and they give you a great selection of sports packages that all providers should. It was a change that was coming for a while and am happy I made it.

Movie channels free for a year ?

Nice work on getting that, I've never seen that promotion. :)
