I've been waiting for the end of basketball season to do this, because I am losing NBA-TV, but I downgraded.

Paid my $5 downgrade fee and am now saving 13.99 a month (8.99 the first because of the fee). It's a good deal for all the HD. If I drop the Plat HD next month, I will have some really good channels for a very low price for the last year of my contract.

I'll probably go back up around Christmas, when basketball gets a little interesting. Any other seasonal downgraders around?

Yes! Once the Stanley Cup playoffs are finished (should be in about a week), I will downgrade from Top 250 to Top 120. I will either add RSN to Top 120 in October or switch to Top 200 which includes RSN. Come next April, I will switch back to Top 250 if that is what it takes to get Versus for the Playoffs.

This was always my plan when I signed my DHA 24 agreement with Dish. The CSR I spoke to said that Dish has many customers who either upgrade or downgrade seasonally and that it is not a problem as long as I maintain my minimum package (Top 120) and I am willing to pay the $5 downgrade fee.

If you like your HD Absolute? Don't contact Dish.
