I want to connect 3 Dish 500's.
One pointed at 110 and 119.
Number two at 129 and number three at 61.5.
I'm feeding two receivers a 622 and a 501.
Can I do this with a DP34 or do I need the more expensive DP44???

Why would he need 2 DP34's? The OP has only 2 recievers...a 622 (2 lines) and a 501 (1 more line)...3 outputs from a DP34 total.

So even if he's just needing 4 sats for the 622, it would only be 2 DP21's needed, in addition to the aforementioned DP34...approx $10 apiece on flea-bay.

Yes, that's correct. The DP34 switch only has input for 3 satellites, the DPP44 has input for 4. So you'll need a DP21 for each cable run to combine the 4 satellite inputs.

How the receiver prioritizes multiple satellites with the same channels is somewhat a mystery. It may depend on what positions they are in, or may be hardcoded to prefer one over the other. If you lose signal on the current satellite it will likely not automatically find the same numbered channel on the other one.

My bad apparently I cant read.. I was thinking he said two 622's (4 lines) and a 501 (1 line) for a total of 5

go with the 44 switch...The time required and the very "busy" appearance of the wiring using other methods makes it worth the extra $$ for the switch..
