I am thinking about trying something and have a question about switches.

Would need a two port switch.

Are there any switches that default to one port in the absence of any signal from the receiver regarding a port selection?

If so, does said switch only pass power to the active port?

Mainly, I want to be lazy and not have to go in and set a port switch on every satellite in the receiver, just the one fixed dish thinking about adding. Isn't there a switch that only passes power to the selected port?

Thanks in advance.

All the switches I've had:
22 knz switch defaults to OFF position (unless it's turned on at receiver) I'll have to look see for the brand, not using any now.

All the DisEqC switches defaulted to port 1. All I've had only passed power to selected port, or port 1 if none selected/programmed.
(DMSI, Some cheap Chinese one(Waste of money), and the Amiko)

Some DiSEqC switches "stick" to the last selected port as long as power is supplied and until a new port command is issued.

Also, many 22Khz 2x1 switches only work correctly if an active LNB(f) or load is connected to both ports. Many 22Khz switches will default to the loaded port if the other port is not seeing a load. This makes troubleshooting a 22Khz switch a royal PITA if not done correctly! :D

I have occasionally been caught by this and scratching my head as to why the STB command was not being processed by the switch. Often found a defective coax cable/fitting or LNB(f). :)

Thanks for the answers. Gives something to ponder upon while deciding whether or not to do what I am thinking of.
