I currently have home account for my 84 yr old mom that started about 5 yrs ago with the Top120+ package at $49 month with 3 yr pricelock. Switch to flex-pack at end of pricelock..Also useing a vip222k on the account in camper..When I started the account for her dish had to come out and install system for promotion price.. Already had dish so all the did was removed a 211k ( which I still have) and installed a piece of crap 211z..made note in contract customer owned dish..Now she doesn't use the satellite in home at all and would like to get the Dish Outdoors rv account..Not sure if I can just get it switched or not..If close the account and open a new Dish Outdoors account I know that the 222k cannot be used.. Really not looking to buy more receivers.. Anyone have success changing to Outdoors account?

Hello Tvland1. Once an account is classified as a residential account, you can attach an outdoor account to it causing it to become a hybrid account, but there wouldn't be a way to change it a pay-as-you-go outdoor account. If you purchased any of your equipment, like the 222k, it can be activated on the new account. If you're not sure if your equipment is 'Leased' or 'Owned' you can get in contact with us through our Chat team (Request Rejected). - Caleb S

Thank you..I wasn't sure if the 222 could still be activated

Are you sure about activating the 222k...I've been told that they won't activate that receiver anymore at least not on a new home account..Maybe Dish Outdoors is different

The last time I talked to Dish about signing up for Dish Outdoors was told only Wally and 211 receivers can be used. Have a Hopper3 and they would not change from home account to Dish Outdoors account. So have to contact the Dish Customer Service every time I change locations with my 5th Wheel trailer.

There are a few members here that have hopper on Dish Outdoors accounts but that's only possible because they own the equipment..The main reason I wanted to switch accounts to Dish Outdoors was also to be able to change locals using app..I have been able to use customer chat and change service locations in past..I've been using the VIP222k for several yrs and works great in the camper..I don't want to take a chance and close the account and then Dish Outdoors tell me they won't activate the receiver..The extra receiver fee I've saved over the yrs has more than paid for the receiver..Think I'll just keep the home account for now and deal with the locals with chat
