The SuperDish requires DishPro LNBs and switches. Because of that, you'd have to buy either a legacy adapter or a DPP44 to even have hope; and I doubt even that will work with the 4700. You're better off getting a newer receiver.
Since checked over at ekb.dbstalk.com; the 4700 hasn't had a software update since 2002. That makes it 99.9% certain it won't work with SuperDish, even with a legacy adapter or DPP44.
I wonder why the 4700 receiver would not get the software update yet the 3700/3900 would seeing that it has the OpenTv software and was a premium receiver over the 3700/3900 receiver. It has more memory than the 3700.
The 4700 no longer exists it was upgraded software wise to a 4900. As a 4900 it is still being supported. Look at your system information screen if it dosen't say 4900 you may have trouble getting it upgraded to the correct software. Call tech support if it isn't a 4900. 4900 software is P2.16 as of 4/15/04.
Yeah, I got one too and it should be a 4900 now. If not you will need to call support. The DishPro adapter will work with the 4900. You should get one free with your SuperDISH. The 4900 will work with the SuperDISH.
