SuperDish 121 with 118.7 LNBF?

I recently aquired a SuperDish 121 and a 118.7 LNBF with 129 bracket.

The 118.7 LNBF/bracket I have is the "Dish 1000+" type (aluminum color bracket(s), not painted grey).

I installed the SuperDish 121 on my roof and bolted the 118.7 LNBF to the arm(I had to drill 2 holes in the arm so I could mount the 118.7 LNBF bracket properly).

I am not getting the performance, signal level wise, that I was expecting to get.

The reason I went with a SuperDish 121 vs a Dish 1000+ dish is 36" vs 30", more inches should = more signal.

I had to place 3 washers underneath the 118.7 LNBF bracket to even get an acceptable signal on 119. On 118.7 I am barely getting any signal at all.

My question to the forum is: Do I need the 118.7 Repoint Kit bracket (the grey painted bracket) for my 118.7/119 LNBF for this setup to work properly?

It seems the bracket I am using does not point the 118.7/119 LNBF to the focal point of the SuperDish 121.

Any info would be great!

Thanks

Henry

Seems to me you got correct reason for that: "It seems the bracket I am using does not point the 118.7/119 LNBF to the focal point of the SuperDish 121."

This thread may help you with your repoint. I converted my SD105 with no problems. A signal meter will be a great help with the repoint.

"Moving" to DFW or Shreveport possibilities?

Mount dish of soffit overlooking roof?
