Subchannel Discussion Thread

<iframe src="Facebook" width="500" height="300" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true"></iframe> Might need it's own Topic. KC area Decades,Heroes and Icons,Weathernation,Buzzrtv,RTV,GETTV,Cheddar and so on to moved to a full power station and also Accuweather back to one to. If the Cable systems would add both Weather Channels National Feed same with Heroes and Icons and Decades like Mediacom does in KC area.

Other than Quest which is launching in January do you think we will have many new subchannel launches in 2018? In 2017 we had 3 launches TBD, PBS Kids, Light TV and 2 conversions Charge (The Works) and Stadium (ASN).
I wonder could we see a 'Kidsclick' subchannel launching by Sinclair? (It's already a programming block on their stations and This TV)
Have Antenna abandoned plans on launching their Antenna Classics subchannel?

Is Til Death on getTV a recent addition? It' a sitcom that ran on FOX for 4 seasons starting in 2006. This is another more modern program on getTV after 7th Heaven and Ghost Whisperer.

I think that depends mightily on how well the repack goes and how many of the stations want to add Next-Gen (ATSC 3.0). Things are surely very interesting (in the Chinese curse sense) in the OTA biz.

We just need Shopping Channels on Low Power ones and like Buzzrtv,GETTV,Decades,H and I on Full Poerr stations,
Religious channels are usually on LP analog stations.
QVC and HSN are usually part of Ion TV's collection of digital subchannels.
I would love to see some foreign language channels, just as long as they have secondary English audio.

Analog has only ended for full power and Class A stations. LPTV can still broadcast in analog until July 2021. After that, all TV will be digital.

Amalog for low power may live on even beyond that. Particularly for those using channel 6 as a Franken FM station.

That's assuming that they survive the repack.

We know that they didn't get assigned channels as part of the repack and I can't imagine that an analog station could win out over an LP DTV station.

The way that DTV and Next-Gen are going to be packed together, NTSC might create adjacent channel interference that would make them a poor neighbor.
