Looking for new receiver with that latest satellite features plus ability to do netflix, amazon, hulu. Basically a STB that can do it all. I have not come up with much. Some that do IPTV and some that do you-tube. I did find one that had XBMC but would rather not have to deal with the XBMC menu. Its nice to flip through the channels the normal way. So far unfortunately XBMC is the only thing I can find that will do everything via plug ins.

This has most features you mention. I bought one on sale over a Holiday weekend. Has software update with USA satellites. Includes some features i don't use. Made in China...

Does it do netflix and amazon, or just youtube and iptv? And what IPTV channels does it get by the way? I forgot to mention I have a roku and a wii that do netflix. It would be nice to have something that did it all. SO many remote controls you know.

Here's what the back looks like:

Has a direct wire internet connection, or you can use the USB antenna connection for WiiFi to a router. I bought this on an impulse because the price was cut in half over a weekend. I have it connected to a smart TV which has the internet plugin so do not use any of those features through the receiver. There is a secret menu on the box for internet channels, but again I dont use that feature, so cant tell you much there. Pretty sure it's YouTube only through the receiver.

Based upon the software updates it appears to be a OpenBox (I have an Openbox S9) although labeled SkyBox F3. I only suggest it as an alternative choice, sorry I haven't used it much.

It's currently hooked to a fixed C Band dish on 101W.

I appreciate the suggestion but really I am looking for an all in one deal. I think its nuts if these satellite receivers don't eventually have mainline streaming ability. I mean most new dvd players all have this ability. Trying to avoid building a htpc as mythtv can be hell.
The only recievers I can find that are xbmc capable are these:

I keep pointing to XBMC because if there is no receiver capable of iptv + sat + netflix and amazon alone xbmc can do this with the help of plug ins. Not to mention could take advantage of the usb port to add an external dvd player.

Google Play certified or enabled Android DVBS/S2 hybrid STBs can use the Google Play Store apps for Netflix, Amazon, etc. but they use the DVBPlayer app for DVBS/S2 satellite reception. The DVBPlayer app is very poorly implemented and lacks the simple features that we expect from a set-top box.

Example: unable to select a motor and a switch at the same. If a motor is selected, it applies to all satellites in the active list. Poor DiSEqC 1.0/1.1 implementation with unreliable switching. Perfect for a single fixed or single motorized dish, but frustrating to use with multiple dishes/LNBFs.

We probably will see a better XBMC DVBS/S2 solution or a port that will provide a better satellite experience.
