Starting up Hopper in am always checking tuners?

Does the hopper always have that checking tuners screen ? I watch tv in the evening, come back the next day and it says checking tuners 1 of 3 2 of 3 3 of 3 for maybe a minute is that normal?

Mine doesn't do that. Are you cutting the power to it (unplugging or turning of power strip or something), or just turning it off with the remote?

That's not right. Open the front panel and push the reset button. If it still does it, unplug it for about 10 minutes. Plug it back in, and go from there. Or you can go ahead and call Dish.
