Star Choice DSR 505 Guide

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and very pleased to be here. I have a question about the guide on the DSR 505 reciver for star choice. My guide always displays all the programing in one colour (blue). I want to change this so that movies and other programing are different colours. How do i do this? On news letters from star choice they show the 505 giude with differnt colours. Any Help will be greatly apreciated. Thanks, gregjigger

With the current guide, you do not have the option to do this. A rather large software update is supposed to begin downloading on July 20, it includes this new IPG you are referring to.

The receiver must be off to receive the download (it takes 1.5 hours). If the receiver is left on overnight and misses the download opportunity twice, SC will send a signal to force the receiver off in order to get the download.

How would they know if the reciever got the update? I llive in the states and do not have the phone hook up.

the phone lines have nothing to do with the download. they hit your receiver, just like they hit it, when *c turns it on. the hit comes through the dish to satellite box.
where you are usa, Canada or Mexico, has nothing to do with the hit either.

you will know when the get the download, the guide will be a different color, black.

Latest rumor (or word) from another site is the download will begin next week (July 24).
