This question is from a customer of mine. His father is going to winter here in Phoenix, Az and asked if he brings his Star Choice receiver here, Will he be able to pick up his channels?..... I looked at the footprint and see that we can get Star Choice as we have no problem getting Bell Expressvu for our winter customers. But, Looking at the dish online it looks like a KU dish.........

My Question:
Can we use a Dish Net dish to get Star Choice?, If not.......What do we need to order for him? I have never installed Star Choice but we do a lot of Bell for our Canadian winter customers...... Must not be very popular up there......

Thanks in advance!

See other recent posts from Mike Kohl for information about dishes. I do not believe Star Choice can be received with a Bell Dish for a variety of reasons.

I have several neighbors (in Phoenix area) that have the Star Choice 75E dish, and it seems to work ok. Another option is the recommendation of Mike Kohl to use two Patriot 85 dishes. This steup works fine for me; rain fade occurs only in heaviest showers, which, as you know, ain't often.

Starchoice is linear KU Band so you need at least a 30" dish for reception.

ExpressVu uses DBS like Dish & DIrect so you can get by with a smaller dish

so you need a 30" or larger dish and a KU Band LNBF. The LNB is for KU Band

Starchoice and Bell

No, each uses it's own dish. On average, Starchoice dishes are on the average quite a bit larger than Expressvu's.
