Standard Vip222 connections?

We are on the schedule next week for Dish install, just wondering what type of cabling is normally included with a dual HD receiver, from receiver to tv's?

Is an HDMI cable the best option for tv1 (an HDTV), in which case, can we expect that to be included without extra cost?

Our SD tv2 is on 2nd floor from receiver location. I have RG6 cable already run between floors. Will that work if we tie into, or do I need to be looking at routing something else?

Just want to be somewhat prepared, and know what to expect, prior to install.

the recievers generally dont come with any hd cabling. Some installers/retailers/dns offices, ect may provide them, but I wouldnt count on that.

Generally HMDI is going to the the wire of choice, so you are probably best picking one up yourself, and if the installer happens to include one, you can take yours back. If not, you are prepared.

As far as tv 2, it will just use the rg6 cable

As I have said before, DO NOT get the 222! Call and change your order to a 622/722 DVR (the peace of mind is worth $6/mo) or a 211 for your hi-def and a 311 for the second room. The 222 is quite possibly the biggest POS dish has ever released. I had a customer a few weeks ago who was on her 4th 222 in as many weeks. I got her swapped out for a 211 and everything has been perfect since. That is only one example of many.

EDIT: just realized I said basically the same thing in your other thread.

Very much appreciate your input on this topic!! I'm new to this, so wasn't aware of being able to use two different receivers with a single dish to get the same end result. I'm more comfortable with that setup anyway, going with simple equipment that's been around and has the bugs worked out, especially w/ tv1 & 2 on separate floors.

Am I understanding correctly that there is no extra cost involved for two individual receivers vs. the dual-tuner??

My order was thru the DishStore, so do I just call them to make the equipment change?

(note: saw your similar response in my other thread, we'll stick with this one)

Thanks again, if I can avoid any headaches w/ callbacks, I'm all for it!

There will be no extra upfront cost. Dish likes to use dual tuner units because it's cheaper for them, and it's really cheaper for you because you can aviod the $5/mo extra receiver fee, but they can modify the order without a problem. Give Claude a call, he can change it for you.
