Hello all I recently installed a winegard 1 meter dish to receive out of market locals, I am paying for them and am not hacking! I did this back in july. Recently though the spotbeams ( E* spot 1 and 3 for SFLA) have been decreasing in signal, it goes out completly around 1pm EST and comes back up at around 7pm EST. Is it something to do with the season change or solar flares or what. I never lost the spots from when the 1M dish was installed I had a constant lock of about 65 on spot one and 50 on spot 3.

BTW I m posting here because this forum seems the most knowlegable about larger dishes, in fact it was this forum that guided me in the proper install of the 1M dish and how to incorparate it in to my E* system.

So any info on the spotbeam patterns in winter would be helpful.

I remember this story. Miami locals, wasn't it?

Well, I grew up in Florida, and as I recall, everything grew vegetation, or was over-run with bugs.
Is it possible that the natural variations in signal level are running up against fungus , mildew, or spider webs?
In other words, could it be that say, water in the coax (or something similar) has reduced the overall signal, and now you're dropping out during part of the day?
How high a signal do you get on each transponder during the good times of the day?
If those are lower than they used to be, maybe something as simple as the dish being a little off-target could be the whole story.

How does your signal vary from a dry day to during the actual rains?

Of course, I'm sure others will chime in if there is some other natural cause of the variation.
Like something with the satellite...

Thanks for the reply and you remember correctly. The signal loss during the day is only on the miami spots 1 & 3. All other tp's have a max signal of 125 with exception of spot 5 & 7 they are at 110 120 sig strength. It is funny I live farther away from North carlina than I do Miami and the carolina spots 5 & 7 come in at all times of the day. I ruled out obstructions and cable issues just by the fact that all other tp's have a MAX signal. BTW spot 9 has no signal at all but i never botherd to check what city is on that spot.

Wel I gotta response at the other site and found out my problem is called satellite wobble. I tried reaiming but it was futile. I actullay increased the signals on spot 5 and 7 but 1 & 3 remianed out. Any tips on how to correct for this wobble? he signa is out fom 1pm to about 830 each and every day. :(

Bigger dish?
I know where you can get a good deal on a nice little Fortec 6 footer.
