Hi all!

I'm a new DirecTV customer, and it's great so far with one exception. I currently live in MT, but split the year between MI and MT. Since I'm from MI, I'm pretty bummed that my RSNs are blacked out here in MT, and was wondering if there was some way I could get DirecTV to allow me to change my account to register my MI address so I can watch FSN Detroit. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

sure you can. The only thing is your locals wont show up in Montana because they'll be from Michigan. Locals are on spotbeams so you have to be within a couple hundred miles from the locals you have set up for

the only other issue is the clock will be off by 2 hours since Michigan is in Eastern time zone and Montana is Mountain

I added a little bit to my post in regards to the time on the receiver

Just call up Directv and tell them you "moved". There is already a dish there and everything is working but the locals (the less they know the better)
give them address in Michigan
they will change it and the locals will change as will the RSN

Normally I'd say to tell them to leave the billing address as is but me personally....after its done you can log into your account and change the billing back yourself to MOntana

Thanks guys, this is great news. I was pretty bummed when they installed it and thought I'd be stuck without my FNSD until January.

Richard,

Welcome to the SITE !!!

Go to :
Menu/Set Up/ System Set Up/Display/Clock ....
Then pick you TZ and make sure you have the Daylight Savings set as well.

Thanks again, guys! Just had them change it and I'm extremely happy I'll be able to watch MSU with the home call this season (I like my play-by-play nice and biased).
