Hi everybody!
I have a Pansat 2700a receiver and just got a Extigy External soundcard. I want to encode the PBS channels and any other channels that broadcast in AC 3 audio.
What kind of cable do I need to hook up to the SPDIF plugs in the Pansat and Extigy soundcard and where can I get one? I went to Radio Shack and the clerks looked at me with a "what kind of cable?" look.

does the 2700 have a toslink or a rca output? I forget

If its rca (like the A/V cables), just a regualr RCA cable will work fine

If its toslink, you need something like this

But check your local rat shack...they are clearancing out some. I just got a 3 foot video cable/digital audio cable for like 5 bucks

edit: I checked the pansat site and its just a rca cable for the SPDIF. Thats all you need

Darn, I paid $25 for the cable believed by the Radio Shack to work (after their look I described in my thread). I did not open it and yes there were some cables on clearance. I will take that one back for refund and get the regular one.
Thanks
