I mean I was right on the edge of buying a Sony LCD procection HDTV - I was just doing some general surfing and came across this page:

Very scary - to the point that I'm wondering if it isnt put up by Sony competitors. Apparently there is a fairly high rate of the lcd chips overheating and cracking - causing the yellow or purple "road map" lines. I understand there are fans involved to cool the chips - even after the set is turned off. Anybody know more, or why I shouldn't buy a Sony LCD projection set?
