Song Name Game...

I've seen this on other boards and figured it might be cool to try it here...:D

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

That is the first post in this thread by Webbydude.

Huh?

Your definition is all the more reason Four Seasons should be allowed. Even Bobby said it is okay for a song. If only you'd been more colloquial in the first place, then there would be no problem . So why start that standard now instead of before I posted 'Four Seasons'? (I asked a couple people if Four Seasons was a song written by Vivaldi and they said yes - so conversationally/colloquially it's just fine.)

Double standard festival.

BTW - I just typed in 'theme' and your's came up. It took 1.5 seconds to do the search, no need to wade through 19,000 posts. Four Seasons is an instrumental.

The Four Seasons (Vivaldi Violin Concerto In e Major) - Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, G. Schwarz, Vivaldi Baroque Group

Give it a break! Is the 1812 Overture a song? West Side Story is not a song either although the music within it a collection of songs.

The Four Seasons by Vivaldi contains 4 movements each having 3 sections.

* Concerto No. 1 in E major, Op. 8, RV 269, "La primavera" (Spring)
1. Allegro
2. Largo
3. Allegro Pastorale
* Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 8, RV 315, "L'estate" (Summer)
1. Allegro non molto
2. Adagio e piano - Presto e forte
3. Presto
* Concerto No. 3 in F major, Op. 8, RV 293, "L'autunno" (Autumn)
1. Allegro
2. Adagio molto
3. Allegro
* Concerto No. 4 in F minor, Op. 8, RV 297, "L'inverno" (Winter)
1. Allegro non molto
2. Largo
3. Allegro
In no way can you consider any of this a song within the standard taken up in the first post.

If you continue this, I am going to suggest that we all just ignore you so we can continue our pleasant game that has been going on for years without the BS that came up as soon as you joined it.

Funny How Love Slips Away - Narvel Felts

Where does this fit with anything posted on the last two pages? I love the song, but it doesn't fit any where that I can see.

Get Up (Sex Machine) - James Brown

Huh?
Your definition is all the more reason Four Seasons should be allowed.

You conveniently left out this part of my quote -

Your choice of the Four Seasons was wrong, not because it is an instrumental piece, it is wrong because it is not a song, it is a collection of four concertos.

Love Machine - The Miracles

Bobby - you are breaking the rules just as much as you think I am. Back it up to my post there (or there is no credibility in this game at all).

You're right, there is no credibility here. So, as I have said to you before, leave us, please, and go create your own game with your own rules...

I vote for the ignore, Bobby!:up

However you might have said countless orchestras and it would fly

If it would fly 24 hours ago in your eyes, why not now? You are far too critical on me...

So if you don't like the post, we can back it up. Why not keep the comments simple like you do for everyone else? Or should we have a double standard here against me?

Why can't you two lighten up and enjoy this thread?

You created the situation, and thus you lay in it.

We were enjoying this thread alot before you started your mission. Like I said, stick with Millencolin and you're cool.......or fly away little angel............

I didn't say there was no credibility here. Please read my post again.

You say that I'm only here to F**k things up, but why would I even post any fitting songs like I have dozens of times, if that were the case?

The song on the table, according to Bobby's acceptance, is:
The Four Seasons (Vivaldi Violin Concerto In e Major) - Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, G. Schwarz, Vivaldi Baroque Group
However you might have said countless orchestras and it would fly

How could I create a situation of someone else not having the same standard for my posts as everyone else's? That is senseless. You and Bobby have adopted it - it wasn't me creating your decision.

Now it is anyone else's turn for:
The Four Seasons (Vivaldi Violin Concerto In e Major) - Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, G. Schwarz, Vivaldi Baroque Group

Oh...the drama.... :no

It was not accepted - it is not a song.

We are here
Bobby said it would fly with the orchestra (band) who performed it (as I've reposted multiple times). So unless he didn't mean what he said, you are the only one not 'accepting' it. So it stands. It's a track on a CD that anyone can buy - it's performed by a group and it is music. If you don't like that - then maybe new rules need to be made. You've already voted that instrumentals are okay. All I see is a double-standard here.

Quit looking then.

NEW RULE - Ignore bebop's posts.

1st post to ignore for all those who have a double-standard (don't read on if you do):

If you want me to ignore your double-standard and make up silly rules because of it - why should anyone accept what you post as credible?

If you treated people like you want to be treated, this would never have started. Attacking and name calling is uncalled for here. Everyone else is trying to enjoy this thread. I suggest you do the mature thing and put this nonsense behind you and acutally post another song.

I was so flabbergasted by the thought of using a classical piece and thinking it was a song that I simply thought about Paul's use of The Beer Barrel Polka by countless polka bands. Of course, as an afterthought, I thought about the song piece of SONG NAME GAME. If someone told you that The Four Seasons by Vivaldi was a song, they were just as incorrect as you are. It's that simple.

The post following your original Four Seasons fit well into the one that you followed, so there is no reason to go back. Let's move forward. If you want to play by the simple idea that we name songs and bands that fit into the previous post, fine. If not, play elsewhere, please....
