It amazes me how anyone would want to watch 16:9 HD content on a tiny pocket dish screen.

Actually you would be amazed at how good the picture is. I have a PSP as well as a PPC with a 4" screen and watching either UMD movies or ripped movies look quite good. It is especially good on a long trip, you have something to pass the time. The 7" pocketdish would give an excellent viewing experience in my opinion and anything under 4" is not worth buying.

It is strange however that it will not convert over HD...maybe has something to do with allowing an external HD on the 942 (one can hope can't he) in the future.

Actually, I for one am more interested in using it to carry the programming to another TV- SD & HD. If I could dump the programming onto the PocketDish at high speed I could then carry it with me to watch on another TV while travelling. The screen is just a nicety. But I think I'll hold off on this toy for a year or 2- At least until they allow a high speed dump of HD.
