Software Release 811 L 3.33

I watched several more hours of TV after my above post, and did not see the symptom again. Although I didn't watch any content that had any predominantly red scenes either. Somewhere between NBC and my eyeballs there was a piece of equipment that could not handle red picture elements. The 811 is still my primary suspect.
I'll just keep my fingers crossed it was a one-time fluke.

Well, I hope that P3.33 is stable, because there's a second phase going out tomorrow, and probably a full phase next week.

My upgrade is more of a necessity. Still have to brave the cold (20 degs in OH) and go out to uplug the Dual from the DPP Twin which would be my only hope to make the 129 spot work. as the xxxxing 811 won't recognize the Dish 1000's 129 LNB.

Was truly hoping to save another Carthart/Skimask/frozen fingers session on the frozen roof if i could :)

Maaan does that cold get into one's bones. Luckily coming from E Europe i always stash a supply of Vodka, works like a charm.

Just got my Dish 1000 installed last week, and had to use a DP34 to feed 4 receivers. The only way we got the 811 to see 129 is by running all 3 LNB outputs directly into the DP34 inputs. It did work with P3.30.

I have my 811 set to ask before downloading software but I did play guinea pig today and went ahead and downloaded it. I figure that they tested if vigerously before releasing it considering what happened to the 3.32 update. I haven't noticed anything different about the 811 since its been downloaded. Does anyone know what this software is going to address?

I haven't seen release notes yet. Someone had problems with an OTA channel but it could've been the local station like he mentioned. Have you tried your OTA channels BrettTRay?

It's in FULL PHASE tomorrow:

12/14/2005: 1131 Software Version L3.33 for DP811

Effective Thursday, December 15th, Engineering plans to spool the FULL PHASE of software version L3.33 for the DP811 receiver. This is primarily a non-forced maintenance release available at ALL satellite locations.
At this time L3.33 will be the valid software version for the DP811.

These are from the ill fated 3.32 release, but how much of it is applicable to 3.33 remains to be seen.

811 Software Version P3.32

* Turbo QPSK performance enhancement
* Readiness for Echo X due to launch next year
* Blackout pop up rewording and other fixes to graphics
* Guide performance corrections for most "No Info" cases
* Miscellaneous minor fixes (Maintenance)

OK guys from Jason at DBSTalk:
http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=49247
"Software Version: P3.33 for 811
Maintenance release which improves a software filter for network system information content and prepares for a future release which will reduce the occurrence of "no info" in the EPG as well as improve screen positioning control."

Sounds like they're releasing a small subset of 3.32 (assuming the part that didn't tank), that would explain the rapid roll-out.

I haven't had any problems with 3.33 so far either. I know I was getting alot of the "No Info" problems the last few days but it seems to have cleared up since the download. Maybe it will stay that way.

$5 Additional Reciever Fee

18 more days to get NBR on 508's
