Yes, but it's common knowledge that Charlie would rather wait till AFTER a big event to put a channel up... that way he eliminates one of the channels' negotiating strong points.
Keep in mind, Charlie has no interest in you as a customer - he only has an interest in the bottom line, so whatever helps that bottom line will be added and whatever doesn't, won't.
On an unrelated note that's on topic in this thread... I have a question/suspicion for you all : Figure CMT and whatnot went on "SD-only free trial" or whatever recently, the same way Fox News did before it was added only to people that have a basic package with an HD addon. Does anyone think Charlie is gearing TurboHD folks up for a massive letdown?
This would also explain why he's delayed as long as possible with the HD additions - he wants to get as much money out of the subscriptions as he can - the subscriptions that will go to D* when TurboHD is effectively put on life support. Yes, some will switch to basic + hd, but there are PLENTY of people who joined E* specifically for TurboHD who would then be likely to switch.
Granted, he wouldn't SAY that right now, but if new HD keeps on only being added to the basic package + HD addon folks, the writing is seriously on the wall - and Charlie knows he can't hide that, hence his waffling and delaying... hey, he might even get a few of the (not on this site) sheeple to "grandfather" on TurboHD as he keeps raising its price and yet giving no new programming!
